My name is Brittany Smith and I am currently teaching 7th Grade Science and Agriculture at ACMS.  I am married to Kyle Smith, and we have a daughter, Miss Abby Lou Smith.  She was born premature at 23 weeks gestation.  She is a miracle and we are so blessed that she is home and thriving!!!

While I now know more about medicine than I ever wanted to know, I did not go to school to be a doctor or a nurse.  After graduating from Adair County High School in 2004, I attended the University of Kentucky and completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Career and Technical Education.  I stayed in school after graduation and worked as a Research Assistant to one of the professors in the department and completed my Masters of Science degree in Career, Technical, and Leadership Education.  And due to the fact that I truly wanted to be able to move as close to home as I could and find a job, I enrolled in Morehead State University and completed my Masters of Arts in Middle School Education.  Upon completion of all of these programs, I received teaching endorsements in Middle School Science, Middle School Social Studies, and Middle and High School Agriculture.

I taught freshman science my first year at George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, Kentucky.  Kyle and I moved to Adair County after that and I taught Science and Social Studies at Cumberland County Middle School in Burkesville, Kentucky.  In 2013-2014, while at CCMS, my 7th grade students scored the highest of any Science students in the state of Kentucky on the KPREP test!!!!!! I have the same expectations for my students each day in the classroom at ACMS...and I am looking forward to a great year! I am so blessed to have a job in my home district, and I am eager to get back in the classroom!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email at any time.  I am here to help you succeed and I am eager to help you in any way I can.  I love my job and I love to see my students succeed.

Thank you all and I am looking forward to a great year!
