Cam Lasley

Cameron Lasley drives the lane for two of his 19 points Monday night in the Tribe’s 5th Region Tournament win over John Hardin.

The winningest season in Adair County basketball history continued Monday night when the Indians erased an early 13-point deficit on their way to a 79-67 win over John Hardin in the 5th Region Tournament semifinals at Central Hardin High School.  Adair County (32-1) outscored their opponent 66-45 after the first quarter.

“Defensively, we limited them to one shot, but in the first quarter they hit that shot,” says head coach Deron Breeze.  “Over the course of the game, the percentages even out and they started to miss some.  We outrebounded them by one, and we said going in that if we win the rebounding battle or at least keep it even we will win.”

Senior guard Kel Stotts led the way offensively for the Indians, pouring in 30 points on 9-14 shooting (including 6-9 from three).  Cameron Lasley continued his stellar postseason play with 19 points, five rebounds, and two blocks, and Chance Melton hit double figures as well, scoring 14 points and handing out three assists.  Dylan Feese and Corey Melton each had six points, and Jordan Lasley added four points and three assists to round out the scoring.

The Indians face district rival Taylor County tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the 5th Region Championship game at Central Hardin High School (3040 Leitchfield Road, Cecilia, KY).  Adair County won its three previous battles with Taylor this season by an average of 11 points.

“Ezra Oliver is playing very well and Trevon Smith can go for big numbers any night,” Breeze says of tonight’s opponents.  “They’ve had some success against us this season, so hopefully we can limit those opportunities and make them try to beat us in other ways.”

Dylan Feese

Senior sixth man Dylan Feese draws a foul late in the Indians’ contest against John Hardin Monday night.  Feese scored six points off the bench and hit all four of his free throw attempts in the 79-67 win.

Kel Stotts

Senior sharpshooter Kel Stotts goes up for for two of his game-high 30 points Monday night in the Indians’ 5th Region semifinal victory over John Hardin.  Stotts nailed six of nine three-point attempts and grabbed five rebounds in the win.
