Hey There! My name is Robin Hancock and I am so excited to be teaching Reading in Fifth Grade at ACES!!! I am originally from Maryland. I grew up on a farm and ended up going to the University of Kentucky to get a degree in Ag Economics. Later, I married and moved to southern Kentucky. I went back to college because I wanted a career I could really put my heart into (plus I get to use my Ag degree a lot on our family farm) and I found that in the career of teaching. I love it!!! I attended Lindsey Wilson College where I attained my certification in Elementary Education. As well, I have completed my Masters Degree to be a certified Reading and Writing Specialist in the state of Kentucky and have also achieved a certification in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IECE). Recently, I completed my Rank I certification in School Improvement. In addition, I have served on SBDM Councils previously for three years, co-written grants, served as KJHS and STLP Sponsors for 12 years. I also have a wonderful husband, Kirby, of 19 years and two boys of my own, Hayden (17 years) and Hudson (11 years) which I dearly love.
I am in my fourteenth year of teaching. I taught first grade for four years, reading intervention for two years, third grade for one year, fourth grade for four years, and now I am in my fourth year teaching fifth grade reading! I love to study and read a lot over the summer so I am very excited to integrate what I have been learning with our new fifth grade standards!!! I look forward to everyday and and expect my students to strive toward- "Good, Better, Best- Never Let It Rest Until Your Good is Better and Your Better is Best!"
