Every member of the junior and senior classes at ACHS will witness “Operation 10-46” tomorrow morning on the middle school football field, where a mock accident will be staged to educate students about the dangers of distracted driving.
Using student volunteers as subjects in the accident, a host of local first responders will arrive on the scene tomorrow morning with lights flashing and sirens blaring, and go through their routines to show the urgency and seriousness of their work. A helicopter will arrive to transport the most seriously “injured” of the student volunteers.
The exercise is intended to encourage safe driving and decision making for students, with prom set for Saturday and summer quickly approaching. Anyone in the area of campus Friday morning SHOULD NOT be alarmed at the proliferation of law enforcement and emergency vehicles.
