BE PREPARED-Observe our “I Can” statement. Open your Interactive Science Notebook and look at the SmartBoard for directions and check your drop file/ISNB for anything you need to finish.
-BE ON TIME-This means being in your seat when the bell rings and getting down to business!
-BE SAFE-Keep aisles clear of books and other items so we can work easily and clear the room quickly if needed.
-BE CONSIDERATE-Treat others the same way you want to be treated. Be respectful, responsible and cooperative in the classroom. This includes listening to the person speaking.
-THINK FIRST-Before you say or do anything WAIT and ask yourself whether it is appropriate. WAIT (Why Am I Talking).
-PARTICIPATE-You are expected to participate in all labs, activities and class projects and to follow ALL SAFETY RULES during labs. You will be give a job to help the classroom run smoothly!
-WORK TIME-Class time will consist of independent, partner and group activities, labs, vocabulary work and review. When our regular classroom assignments are complete you will check to see if your ISNB is up-to-date and then work on AR-Reading, AM-Math, Spelling Words, or Other Homework.
-END OF CLASS-The bell DOES NOT dismiss you, I DO! Please keep this in mind. We are responsible for making sure everything is put away and ready for the next class!
-HOMEWORK-You will only have occasional homework as determined by the amount of work and the quality of work you complete in class. It will be due within two days unless you make other arrangements.
-GETTING HELP-I am always here for you. I am here to not only help you learn science but also to help make sure your experience at ACMS is positive.
SPEAK to me as soon as possible if you need help. We can always find time before or after school or during RTI when possible. I will ALWAYS be here to help you.
-ABSENCES-Every opportunity will be made to place all handouts in your ISNB file when you are absent. When you return to school, check with a lab partner to make sure how you should complete your work. You will copy any missing data from a lab partner in order to catch up! You may also make arrangements to finish work before or after school. Your ISNB is graded!
