Parent involvement, and shared decision making about your child's experiences in school, as well as support of family life, are essential to my classroom. I actively seek to create a caring and stimulating environment in which families and children interact and grow. There is a continual exchange of information through the daily folders, monthly calendars and newsletters. The following are some of the ways you can be involved:
- I encourage you to email or send me notes about any concerns or ideas you have for your child.
- I welcome and encourage you to participate in your child's birthday at school. Birthdays are a big deal in our classroom!! Everyone likes to feel special on their birthday so I will try to help make that happen. On the day of your child’s birthday you may send cupcakes/cookies/snacks to share with the class. You may also send juice or juice pouches to go along with it. Please keep in mind that any food/drinks you send must be store-purchased and can’t be made at home. We will enjoy these during our regular snack time and you as parents/guardians are welcome to come and join us for your child’s celebration. If your child’s birthday falls on a weekend, we will celebrate on the day before or the next week after. All birthdays that are not during the school year will be celebrated the last week of school. .
- Parent/Teacher Conferences...This is a great time to come by for a scheduled visit to check on the progress of your child and get new ideas for helping your child become more successful.
- You are invited to share a special activity or project throughout the year.
