Hi, my name is Dawn Baker. I am going to be your child's Geometry teacher this year. Thank you so much for sharing your children with me. Previous to the beginning of school there were many changes made to the school schedule and math content and how it is presented to the students. I hope that these changes will work for the better and your children will be better equipped to handle math in the upper grades and in college because of these changes.
A little bit about myself . . .I have lived in Adair County my entire life. I went to Col. Wm. Casey, John Adair, and graduated from Adair County High School in 1988. I received my Bachelor's degree and teaching certificate from Lindsey Wilson College in 1992. I received my Master's Degree from Campbellsville University in 1999 and my Rank 1 certification from Western Kentucky University in 2006. In amongst all this time I married my high school sweetheart, Tim Baker, in 1989 and we now have three great children: Emmalee (23), Sam (18), and Addie (9). We live on a dairy farm in eastern Adair County and that is what takes up most of our extra time.
I want parents to be as much a part of our classroom as the students. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have. And if you want to come and spend some class time with us, please feel free to do so. I am always available through email and my personal contact information was sent home with the students the first week of school. If you need this contact information again, just have the students ask and I will send another copy home with them.
We are looking forward to a great year!
