Kentucky’s Lieutenant Governor, Jenean Hampton visited Adair County High School on Friday, August 11, 2017. She met with students, faculty, school and Central Office administrators to introduce the “Lt. Governor’s Entrepreneurship Challenge” (LGEC). The Lt. Governor introduced the program as “Shark Tank” for students. The LGEC program is open to all high school students in grades 9-12. It encourages lifelong learning by introducing students to entrepreneurship and promotes business ownership. Students pitch their products and ideas in a statewide competition that offered $80,000.00 in scholarship funds during the 2016-2017 competition. Scholarship funds may be used at any post-secondary institution in the State of Kentucky. For additional information, please visit http://ltgovernor.ky.gov/initiatives/lgec/.
