Principal's Message

Alma Rich
Principal

I would like to welcome you to Adair County Middle School's web page.  At ACMS we are committed to our mission of Always Challenging Middle School Students to Succeed!    We want every student at ACMS to reach his/her highest potential and strive to offer opportunities for students to challenge themselves!

In offering opportunitites, we have added extension classes this year to our 7-period day.  All students are enrolled in reading, math, social studies, science, and arts/humanities.  In addition, there are two class periods that students may choose to extend their learning by taking chorus, band, Duo-Lingo, CSI, History through Literature, History through Movies, Sewing Fun, Money Matters, WebPage Design, Political Cartoons, PopCulture, Astronomy...just to name a few!  Students who need additional assistance in reading and math are assigned to an additional study skills class for reading/math during extension time.

Students have the opportunity to explore new areas during clubs as well.  BETA, Chess, Art, and Yearbook are only a few of the clubs offered after school at ACMS.

Students may also get involved with extra-curricular activites such as newly added swimming and wrestling.

We are committed to excellence in all areas:  academics, attendance, and extra-curricular activities.

We welcome parents, grandparents, and community members into our school as volunteers and partners in helping our students be successful both in and out of the classroom!
